Favorite Books I will read anything, but very few books have ever moved me. The story “Wild Swans” by Hans Christian Anderson was my very first love, followed by “Peter Pan”. Mid elementary saw The Three Investigators, and in late elementary/early junior high I hit all the classics including Louisa May Alcott, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, etc etc (Many of which ended wrong in my opinion!). but it was “A Candle in Her Room” by Ruth M. Arthur that I read the most times. In late junior high I discovered Poe (which I know sounds silly because everyone has heard “The Tell Tale Heart” sixty tie by then, but I’m afraid that’s one of my least favorite of his stories) and VC Andrews “Flowers in the Attic” and “My Sweet Audrina”. Her writing was the first – and last - that moved me profoundly. Since then I’ve found lots of interesting or even funny books, but none that could immerse me the way those two did. Some include: Anne Rice’s “Vampire Chronicles, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams, Harry Potter series by JK Rowling, some Steven King, Star Wars books, “Good Omens” – Terry Pratchet/Neil Gammond, The Vampire Files by PN Elrod, Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, The Moorehawk trilogy by Celine Kiernan (Awaiting book 3!!!) and lots of others, I’m sure.
