Introduction I started making cider as a hobbyist in 2004 to see if I could produce something similar to Magners. The results of the first year were weak and acidic (no comments about Magners please), and so I was determined to find out more and do better. From 50 or so litres in that first year, I have more or less doubled each year as my cider has improved. And so I got to the point where I could either consume 450 litres, or start to sell my cider. My liver was very grateful I chose to sell it! In 2009, a total of 900 litres was produced and 146 Cider was born. The goal and aim is to maintain this as a small scale operation, essentially a craft scale business where standards are high, practice is as traditional as is sensible and processes are as manual as reasonable. I also helped to set up and run The Cider Workshop - a resource for amateur and craft producers of cider. This is both a website and discussion group, where anything to do with cider and perry can be asked. The link can be found on the home page. I hope you like the cider - do let me know what you think!
