Favorite Music see my music links on the main blog page ... i like many, many kinds of music ... from classical to americana to rock to reggae to jazz and blues. Some of these sites have music you can play from your computer. Check out Sunday Mornings with John Platt on WFUV from 8-11! I don't have any links to classical music... so I'll list some all-time favorite works: George Gershwin's Three Preludes and Paul Hindemith's Flute Sonata. My mom played the former while I was in utero and while I was little and every time I hear it, it resonates to my core. The latter piece is my favorite NYSSMA solo of my young music career. I performed it with my good and very talented friend Mike Fenton on piano. I love all things Gershwin and love Maurice Ravel's Pavane, and Poulenc's Gloria and the Poulenc Flute Sonata. The Carmina Burana by Carl Orff is an incredible work that takes you to a different place. And while it isn't exactly classical, I can't not mention Dave Brubeck's music or Scott Joplin's rags. I could go on and on - and won't... suffice it to say I have left a lot out.
