| Introduction | Started out as a tour guide on the Queen Mary in 1978 (my first job) and was eventually promoted to Exhibits Coordinator in charge of the ship itself and the newly-arrived Spruce Goose. Discovering that I had a knack with multi-ton hunks of rusty metal, I have been out to the wrecks of the Titanic, and Lusitania to serve as a technical consultant: meaning when they take 60,000 photos of the Titanic, I get to identify what it is they're looking at. I also identify artifacts brought up from the bottom, and assist in mission planing. (Where do you want to go today Jim?). I also do work as a talking head for documentary companies, as well as technical editing and movie consulting about... ships. Since Museum building and Titanic expeditions don't happen every day, I got into Pool construction out in Palm Springs California, but have decided I'm tired of baking in 120 degree heat in the summers, so it's off to the backwoods of Chattanooga TN. I suppose I'll try my hand at steam railroad engineering or civil war re-enactment (I'll probably get stuck on the Blue side), although, I should probably give some thought to growing up. |
