| Introduction | Hi, my name is Tara and I love to play in the kitchen. I am also a science teacher by trade and am interested in the whys and hows of cooking. My students always tell me they appreciate that I can make things seem easy. I hope that this is the case with cooking as well. My cooking influences are diverse. My mother was/is a huge influence. She taught me all the basic techniques, with a fair bit of emphasis on French cuisine. After leaving home, I spent some time in the south. Then I spent a lot of time out west ranching. Then I married an Air Force man and we lived all over. I also enjoy preparing ethnic cuisine as much as I enjoy making everything else I've been exposed too... and sometimes they all get mixed up together! I also am very interested in raising and putting up my own food. On a good year I put up over two hundred jars of goodies and freeze two freezers full of good things. What can I say? I love good food! |
