Introduction In my circle of friends I am the feminist. If you’ve stumbled upon this blog then this isn’t a shock to you, but it’s a part of my identity that I’ve had to defend many times and I’m sick of it. Being a feminist isn’t a bad thing and it angers me that we are trapped by the negative stereotypes of the word feminist that are so often untrue. We never burned our bras; we don’t hate men or children; we aren’t pro-abortion (no-one is). We aren’t asexual or sex crazed. We aren’t ugly or hairy. We are smart, confidant, brave, strong-willed women and men who aren’t afraid to push boundaries but rather insist on doing so. Being a feminist isn’t something I question. It is something that allows me to question the world around me and demand something greater.
