Introduction | I spent my childhood listening to the natural born liars in my small community of Lone Elm Kansas. In fact, I was related to many of them. It inspired me to write Deadly Descent, the first in a mystery series published by Poisoned Pen Press. Simon and Schuster published my historical novel, Come Spring, which won the Western Writers of America Medicine Pipe Award. Convinced that mystery writing and historical investigation go hand to hand, I apply my MA in history to academic articles and my depraved imagination mostly to murder. |
Favorite Movies | Talkies. Definitely talkies. |
Favorite Music | Bluegrass, roadhouse and old-timey country, and opera. Does too make sense. It's all high melodrama |
Favorite Books | Hoot Owl--the first book I ever read, and Green Dolphin Street, for reasons you don't get to know. |
