Introduction Inspired by many years of wedding and event planning, Barbara Yasuhara founded Weddings 9-1-1 in 2007, a complete Wedding Planning, Services and Consultation business located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Soon, what exploded in their business efforts, were the demands in Wedding and Glamour Portraiture, Barbara and her husband Wayne were there to oblige their clients. January 2009 UPDATE!!! Weddings 9-1-1 has JUST added their NEW Photography Division known as YStudio Photography. Visit our new site and see Y we LOVE what we do! http://www.ystudiophotography.com
Interests Barbara's passion for photography continued on throughout her High School age, where she was often assigned as the Schools Yearbook photographer as well as their Community Sponsor's Photographer. She went out into her Mission District community selling ad spaces to local businesses and photographing the owners and the store fronts for the use of the school's newspapers and yearbooks. "Photography has been with me, before my birth, in my childhood, and will forever more be, it is a huge part of who I am and it is a way to pay homage and tribute to my mother who sadly passed away in 2003."
Favorite Movies Barbara's life became "complete" when she met her husband Wayne in 2006, they immediately became the best of friends, and were engaged the very same year! There is no coincidence in their crossing paths, and there was no coincidence that Wayne also was a photographer with over 25 years in film photography experience. Their own three day wedding in December of 2007 was the "seal the deal" and Weddings 9-1-1 was launched in May of 2008! "We re-live our own wedding each and everytime we capture a client's special day, it is as real and as organic as it gets, and we both LOVE what we do!"
Favorite Music Barbara makes it a point to become her brides personal go-to gal, she takes the special time to get to know the bride, her groom and their families, she goes that extra step to really get "inside" this special day. She learns how the couple met, how they became engaged, their personal interests, places that are special to them as well as any other "significant" person or things which complete the couple's wedding day. "We are their eyes and ears and we wait, watch and capture all of the events as they unfold so that our clients can enjoy their day and re-live it over and over again once they receive their photographs and tangible heirlooms." "There is no such thing as the perfect picture, but there is such a thing as the perfect moment." -- Joe Buissink, Beverly Hills Wedding Photographer
Favorite Books Scott Kelby, Dave Ziser, Joe Mc Nally, Skip Cohen & Bambi Cantrell, etc.
