Introduction	I'm the editorial director for Hooked on Phonics, but I'm also a mom who uses the program with my son. He struggled with reading in kindergarten and is now reading on grade level, thanks to great schools and Hooked on Phonics. I have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, and a husband. This means that my little "zoo" is messy, crowded, but there's always something going on. In the past, I've worked as a preschool teacher, music director, swimming teacher, researcher for Sesame Street, book editor, author, Web Master, and a waitress at Friendly's--some of which I was better at than others. I now get to help kids learn how to read. And I can't think of a better calling to have!
