Introduction | My name's Anita and I'm a mom of 2 beautiful little girls, Sonia and Marlena. I always wanted girls, was wondering if I’d ever even meet Mr.Right or have children, and am reminded every day how lucky I am to have my family. My mom and grandma loved to sew, my mom sewed matching outfits for my older sister and I, and she taught me to sew when I was a little girl. My own girls are now my inspiration for returning to the sewing machine. I’m starting this blog to have a place to look at the lovely things I’ve made for my girls, to look at photos of them barefoot in the summertime while the ice is hanging on the trees outside, to share my creations with others, and to remind myself that I have actually accomplished something creative when I look around at the fabric I haven’t touched and wonder when I’ll ever find time to sew again. Aria, in Italian, means sweet melody. If I ever had another daughter, I’d name her Aria. So I decided to create a new baby - my blog, “My Own Aria”. The sweetest melodies that I hear today are my daughters’ voices and I see the melodies in their whimsical clothes and the way they’re loving life with reckless abandon. |
