Introduction	I am a passionate student of 19th century American history, particularly the Civil War. In my free time I am Civil War reenactor, portraying a staff officer in the Union Army. I work for the National Museum of Civil War Medicine and manage interpretation and programming at the Pry House Field Hospital Museum at Antietam National Battlefield. It is a job I am very lucky to have and I love what I do for the museum. Part of that job includes maintaining this garden at the Pry House. I have absolutely no experience as a serious gardener, and this effort is something of a blind adventure. Managing this garden is a great way to explore new areas of history hands on, as well as teaching myself valuable new skills.
