If you drive on a parkway why don't they make the whole plane out of that?
Because, unbeknownst to the laymen, Quantum mechanics, in conjunction with the latest findings of String Theory, expressly forbid a one dimensional plane being made out of anything other than a "Driveway". Thus Parkways are ill equipped to sustain an entire plane, at least in the 10 dimensional space we occupy.
