Apus
My blogs
Occupation | Retired(ish) wordsmith |
---|---|
Location | Sandown, Isle of Wight |
Introduction | Formative years spent riding bikes, drinking Bushmills black label, hanging out with disreputable bike clubs, writing for Motor Cycle Weekly. Moved over to subbing when MCW went bust and joined the engine room of a road haulage magazine as a temporary haven. Stayed for 22 years until the chance of redundancy and an early pension proved irresistible. Mrs Apus and I then ran away from home, leaving our son and daughter in London, to take things ever so easy on the Isle of Wight. Errrr, that's it. |
Interests | English language, old motorcycles, reading (from SF to naval and military history), eating bacon rolls and Minghella's ice cream |
Favorite Movies | Casablanca, Kind Hearts and Coronets, Young Frankenstein, Metropolis, Stagecoach, Blazing Saddles, Henry V (both versions), Pirates of the Caribbean, No Limit, Maltese Falcon, Big Sleep, Roaring Twenties, Gold Diggers of 1933... and so many more. |
Favorite Music | Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Chuck Berry, John Lee Hooker, Jerry Lee Lewis, George Formby, anything 12-bar from delta blue to rock & roll and rhythm and blues (not the modern nonsense that stole the name). |
Favorite Books | Good Omens, everything by Terry Pratchett and Patrick O'Brian, the Holmes stories, the Rumpole stories, etc etc etc |
The hair from your last haircut ... what would it say about your new style?
That there's very little of it apart from my ears.
