About me

Location Snohomish, Washington
Introduction I grew up on a 700 acre cattle and wheat ranch in Eastern Oregon where we grew a huge garden, canned and pickled the bounty, kept a family milk cow, ate the deer and elk we hunted, as well as the beef we raised. My husband's parents also grew a huge garden, raised goats for meat and dairy, chickens for meat and eggs, and focused on whole grain foods. Raising and growing a lot of our own foods is not a new way of life for us but rather a continuation of what we grew up with. We carry on the food traditions of our parents, plus a few new ones of our own, while living on 7 acres in Snohomish, Washington. Besides thinking about food almost all the time, I also make handspun yarns from my sheep's wool.
Interests food, handspun yarn, raising and growing food, home cooking, cookbooks, canning and preserving, sheep, farm animals, cooking, natural fibers, spinning, farmers market, quilting, reading, sewing, knitting, roses, my three almost grown children, my husband
