Introduction | I am interested in food, both in its delights and its disorders. Four (!) years ago I recovered from an eating disorder, and I write about food, cooking, and other forms of nourishment -- the things that satisfy my belly-hunger and my yearning for a richer life. The obligatory bio: I am a 26-year-old, recently-married New Yorker, obsessed with languages and Latin America, and sharing an affinity for fine lace, two-wheeled vehicles, and home cooking. I returned to school to start a Ph.D. in clinical psychology in Fall 2009, with a concentration in health psychology. Note: I am not specializing in eating disorder treatment or research, but from time to time I read the literature and form my own conclusions. Due to privacy concerns, I prefer to write under a pseudonym. Ai Lu is the name that my Chinese in-laws gave me before I traveled to Beijing several years ago; but I'm as White as they come. |

Well, maybe they don't need them, but don't you think that some fish might like a bicycle?
I am a woman who doesn't need a man but adores the one I've got; I also like my Fuji Roubaix and can't imagine things being any different if I were a fish.
