About me

Introduction	I am a former computer programmer/engineer with a bit over ten years experience in the computer industry in Japan. 以前はプログラマ・SEとして日本のコンピュータ業界を十年ほど経験してきました。 I'd thought I was at the end of a self-imposed n year sabbatical, during which I worked as an assistant English teacher in public schools in the Osaka area and studied Japanese culture, but after teaching for over ten years, I find the current state of the computer industry kind of distasteful. そして、日本の文化を勉強しながら、十年以上、コンピュータ業界から脱出して大阪近辺の中・高等学校で英語補佐の仕事を勤めてきて、現在のコンピュータ業界の有り様がやや嫌になってきています。 There's not enough money in teaching English the right way these days to keep my own kids in school, but I'm not highly motivated to go back to the computer industry. 英語を正しく教える仕事に、自分の子供を学校に行かせるほどの給与をいただけなくなっているのですが、コンピュータ業界に戻る気をなくしています。 And teaching English just for meaningless and counter-productive school-entry tests is no longer fun, either. そして今は、意味のない、逆効果になっている入学試験だけのために英語を教えるのも嫌になってきました。 So, now I'm trying to become a novelist: 結局、小説家になろうとしています。 And, to pay the rent and almost buy food, I'm delivering mail part-time full-time for Japan Post. それに、家賃や食費ギリギリのため、日本郵便局で郵便配達のバイトをしています。
