Introduction | I am left-handed, opinionated, and alternately aggressive and dreamy. People frequently don't see or else don't notice the dreamy side. I have a serious taste for bad movies, particularly horror, and tend to give love to movies that others turn up their noses to. I'm a hedonist by nature; if I love something I tend to want to glut myself on it, movies, books, food, textures. I touch things, constantly, and half the time I'm not even aware I'm doing it. I just really love how things feel. I have a very specific, and very strange sense of aesthetics; dynamite will not get me to change my mind on something if I Have Decided. I also really, really love coffee, and usually have a caffeine headache because my body wants more steam-based smack. I try to meet up with Cins at least once a year; we usually run amok all over southern California, and then try to get booted out of Disneyland for sexually harassing the employees, scaring the animatronic pirates, and threatening to whup drunk park patrons. True story. |
Interests | Reading, Writing, Horror Movies, Romance Novels, Horror Novels, Scary Stories, Beading, Drawing, Jewelry, Singing, Music |
Favorite Movies | The Eye (the Chinese version), The Ring (American), The Grudge (both versions), Blackula (screw you, I'm serious), The Exorcist movies, though I love Exorcist 2: The Heretic for COMPLETELY different reasons than the others. Except The bastard version of Dominion, which was just gross, not scary. I also really loved the Twilight movie. Disagree? I don't really care, wanna fight about it? Poltergeist, Transformers (Peter Cullin's voice can still make my heart thump crazily), The silent version of Phantom of the Opera as well as the 2004 version, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (the original-- I still need to see the remake), Hellboy, Hellboy 2, Pan's Labyrinth, Sean of the Dead, The Devil's Backbone, Night of the Comet, Spider Baby, Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Sleepy Hollow, Beetlejuice, Beerfest, Big Trouble in Little China, Idle Hands, the list goes on and on and on.. |
Favorite Music | I end to like music that stirs a strong emotional chord. So I listen to a lot of punk/fast beat when I'm angry (the Idle Hands soundtrack is great for that), classical when I want to be mellow, or I'm trying to relax, and I tend to really groove on movie scores. Sleepy Hollow by Danny Elfman is one of my all time favorites-- it's great to write to. The Twilight soundtrack is good, and I'm really in love with an album by the Mitch Hanson Project caled The Twilight Hour. I'm sure you can guess what it's about. I've found a lot of stuff on MySpace that I like, such as Zombina and the Skeletones, and The Rohan Theater Band. Voltaire is awesome; I've loved all of his stuff and I have a pretty hefty chunk of his musical library now. The Cramps are awesome; I tend to love gothabilly, particularly if a tad tongue in cheek. The Monster Mash is still one of my favorite songs, and I have one of the original LPs that were released in the '60's. It's pretty sweet! I tend to listen to a lot of dark, heavy music. for some reason it helps me write. |
Favorite Books | House of Leaves, Heart-Shaped Box, The Lovely Bones, The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Bay, Lamb, Dirty Jobs, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and hopefully I'll be able to add Midnight Sun soon. Uncertain Magic, Ghost Stories (Peter Staub), Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, Lady Sofia's Lover, The Wallflower series by Lisa Kleypas, Dreaming of You, also by Lisa Kleypas, Hellboy, Scary Godmother, Uncertain Magic, Lenore, Squee, I Feel Sick, The Bones of Fred MacFee, The House with a Clock in it's Walls, The Stranger in the Shadows, The Prisoner of Vampires, Coraline, it seriously never ends. I've been reading since I was three. |
Your hand has been replaced by a rubber stamp. What does it say?
It would change with my mood. A saucy, flirty smiling face if I'm mischievous, and probably a stiffly extended middle finger if I'm angry. Otherwise it would just be whatever random image I decided on.
