Introduction | I'm married to my Junior High School sweetheart (Kathie Stokes), sharing a blended family of four grown children (Andrew, Chantal, Nicole and Danica). I hope to share my cruising dream and experiences with others, so they don't wait too long to live theirs. Upon receiving my BS degree from San Diego State University, I took the better part of a year traveling overland through much of Mexico and as far south as Costa Rica. Upon my return, with twenty dollars in my pocket and support from the Taylor family in San Diego, I secured a job with a local company (Kelco) that harvested the giant kelp, Macrocystis pyrifera, and was also involved in producing heteropolysaccharides from a bacterial fermentation process. After nearly 36 years with the company, along with numerous changes in ownership, corporate success began to wane and my time to leave the company and pursue other passions had come. Persuaded by the wisdom of my new wife, time had come to purchase our boat and pursue our sailing adventure. |
