Introduction I first became interested in Lehigh Valley history when I became involved with the Lower Saucon Township Historical Society’s efforts to restore the one-room Lutz-Franklin Schoolhouse. The schoolhouse has since been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. My involvement with the Society continues as editor of their newsletter, “Lookback Again.” Bitten with the local history bug, I co-authored three books, Images of America, LOWER SAUCON TOWNSHIP, Images of America, SOUTH BETHLEHEM and POSTCARDS OF BETHLEHEM from Arcadia Publishing. Since 2007, I have written the local history column, “This Week in Bethlehem History” for the BETHLEHEM PRESS.
