About me

Gender Female
Occupation Therapist. Writer. Wife. Aunt (not in that order)
Location Newark, Delaware, United States
Introduction I am a writer and mental health therapist working on my first book, Doris, Sophia and Me: A Memoir About My Mother Who Didn't Live Long Enough and My Daughter Who Was Never Born. Set against the backdrop of the death of mother and my unsuccessful journey of infertility, it weaves my raw, poignant and sometimes humorous experiences in loving, losing and learning. It chronicles my attempts to reckon myself with the incongruence of my childhood fantasies of how I imagined life as a grown-up with how things actually turned out. I write a bi-monthly column at SavvyAuntie.com and in addition to being an identical twin married to an identical twin, I am wife of husband (in this blog he is referred to as The Bird) who loves me like you see only in the movies. One of my other favorite roles is being Aunt Steph to 38 nieces and nephews! My obsession with old fashioned slate chalkboards requires an intervention and to this day I still love the Brady Bunch. On an even lighter note, I wear pink lipstick. It's how I met my best friend, Stephanie in college. Clinique's shade fresh strawberry...at first glance, we had each other at, "fresh strawberry, right?"
