| Introduction | Welcome to my little corner of Blogland. I had been reading many lifestyle, fashion, and sewing blogs for about a year and thought I might do well to use a blog format to inspire and motivate me in my stitching projects. I have been sewing since childhood, about age 9. I started on a Treadle sewing machine that my Mother inherited as a family piece. Fabric was hard to come by at that time so I resorted to removing the sheets air drying on the clothes line and cutting them up. Why did I think that no one would notice the missing sheets or the clothes I was wearing. I didn't even have a pattern. I have come a long way since then. Many machines and lots of fabric later sewing remains a passion. Many years of garment sewing left me frustrated with the gravity and aging effects on fitting. I then turned to quilting. Quilting remains a passion, but I am back to considering garments. This blog is to document that journey. I also love to cook and garden. Kitchen Chronicles will document that process. | Interests | impressionist art, tile designs in European churches and public buildings, mid-century design, Victorian decor (particularly William Morris, ) early American first period houses, the photographic skills of others, simple but elegant cooking (Ina Garten for example) group dynamics (particularly in context with family dynamics, ) crime and sociopathic behavior, creating and living quieter and more purposeful life. |
| Favorite Music | All music soothes the soul. I listen to classical music everyday while working but add classic oldies for fun. The dogs like Amy Winehouse, we dance to her now and then! |
