Introduction Welcome to my little corner of Blogland. I had been reading many lifestyle, fashion, and sewing blogs for about a year and thought I might do well to use a blog format to inspire and motivate me in my stitching projects. I have been sewing since childhood, about age 9. I started on a Treadle sewing machine that my Mother inherited as a family piece. Fabric was hard to come by at that time so I resorted to removing the sheets air drying on the clothes line and cutting them up. Why did I think that no one would notice the missing sheets or the clothes I was wearing. I didn't even have a pattern. I have come a long way since then. Many machines and lots of fabric later sewing remains a passion. Many years of garment sewing left me frustrated with the gravity and aging effects on fitting. I then turned to quilting. Quilting remains a passion, but I am back to considering garments. This blog is to document that journey. I also love to cook and garden. Kitchen Chronicles will document that process. If you have any questions or comments send them to kczkws4@aol.com. Happy Stitching!
Interests impressionist art, tile designs in European churches and public buildings, mid-century design, Victorian decor (particularly William Morris, ) early American first period houses, the photographic skills of others, simple but elegant cooking (Ina Garten for example) group dynamics (particularly in context with family dynamics, ) crime and sociopathic behavior, creating and living quieter and more purposeful life.
Favorite Music All music soothes the soul. I listen to classical music everyday while working but add classic oldies for fun. The dogs like Amy Winehouse, we dance to her now and then!
Favorite Books My favorite genre is crime/mystery, however, I frequently like what I am currently reading.
