Introduction I have been birding since the age of 9, and from the age of 15 I started working professionally in birding. I have been working for the BirdLife Israel since 1998. Now I am the director of BirdLife Israel. I am a member of the Israeli rarities committee since 2001. I have an MSc in Ecology from the Ben Gurion University. I did my research on the ecology of Nubian Nightjars in Israel, and spent hundreds of nights with these fascinating birds. I have a PhD in conservation ecology from the University of East Anglia, where I lived in Norwich between 2014 and 2018. I worked on responses of Great Bustards and other agro-steppe bird species to agricultural changes in Iberia. I lead tours worldwide and in Israel. In Israel I focus on night birds. Worldwide I lead tours for Rockjumper. I traveled and birded Asia extensively, and also Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa and North America. I am married to my lovely wife Adva and father to two sons - Uri and Noam, and one daughter - Libby. I currently live in Mazkeret Batya in Israel.
