Introduction Born and raised in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, I am a nature lover, bird watcher, unabashed tree hugger and aspiring-to-improve photographer. In my adult life, I have traveled and/or lived in other areas of the US, Europe and even the Middle East. But with original pluff mud between my toes from treks through the marsh behind my childhood home, I have not resisted returning twice to my terre natale -- the Lowcountry -- to make my home. I reside on James Island with my husband and 2 Siamese fur kids. We enjoy nature watching right outside our windows into our yard, the "Parc Perlière," a National Wildlife Federation certified "Backyard Wildlife Habitat" which includes a small tidal creek with marsh and pluff mud. This little creek serves as a small critter highway for much wildlife. My other great interests (raison d'être for another blog elsewhere?) include a passion for most aspects of French culture & language and a pervading desire to learn other world cultures, too. Above photo was taken by Carl Miller.
