Introduction	In 2021 we moved from the rocky hillside in Austin to a rocky place in the Sonoran Desert. On a visit the previous year we fell in love with this part of the Sonoran desert which is arguably the most beautiful desert of all the American deserts. Sometimes called an arboreal desert which boast many small trees and shrubs as well as towering saguaros. All a result of both summer rains (the monsoons) and winter rains. Our downsized garden wraps around the house and is never more than 12’ It is a tight space compared with our previous gardens but a smart move for those approaching 80! We are hard at work adjusting to the difficulties of gardening in such a climate. We boldly go forth.
